Optony Presents at U.S. Consulate in Shanghai

Shanghai, China | June 2014

Now that energy audits and analysis have been completed for participating businesses in the Wujin National Hi-Tech Industrial Zone, the SEBIZ team has begun sharing prospective new business opportunities available through the SEBIZ program with stakeholders in the U.S. and China.

On April 21, 2014, the U.S. Department of Commerce staff hosted a meeting between U.S. clean energy companies from the U.S.—China Energy Cooperation Program (ECP) and stakeholders from the Wujin National Hi-Tech Industrial Zone at the U.S. Consulate in Shanghai.

During the meeting, the SEBIZ team presented the details of recommended EERE project opportunities that are proposed in the SEBIZ Energy Action Reports. The stakeholders discussed next steps for the project, which include: 1) a Request for Information from prospective vendors (RFI) issued in Q2 2014 and 2) a bid solicitation by individual commercial building owners. If interested, please contact project leads listed on page 1.

The meeting also focused on potential financing solutions. SEBIZ participants have expressed interest in integrated financing options and there are multiple vendors that offer a shared savings model for everything from LED lighting to building energy management systems, which requires no upfront investment.
